How the site is checked

Pages are checked with automated linting, route/link audits, keyboard interaction, reduced-motion emulation and responsive browser tests at desktop, tablet and mobile widths. Key pages are also reviewed visually for contrast, clipping, focus, readable text and canonical character details.

Automated checks cannot prove that a site works for every person or assistive-technology combination. Feedback remains important.

PDFs and alternative formats

Printable PDFs use large, high-contrast code-rendered text and economical backgrounds, but PDF accessibility can vary by reader and device. Every important instruction is repeated on the matching HTML page.

If you need a resource in another format, use the adult contact form and describe the format rather than sharing personal information about a child.

Known limitations

The storybook cover art and some watercolour scenes contain visual detail that cannot all be conveyed in a short alt description. Motion videos do not have audio or spoken content and are decorative or duplicate the adjacent still image.

The third-party Amazon and official support websites have their own accessibility arrangements. We cannot control their interfaces.
